Need inspiration for your next workout? Meet Victoria.
We first met Victoria while shooting "LA's Fittest Grandmas," a short film about a group of seniors who work out twice a week at a Trust for Public Land Fitness Zone ® exercise area in Southern California. While all of the grandmas (and one grandpa) blew us away with their energy and commitment to staying fit, Victoria stood out from the crowd.
At age 82, Victoria is one of the workout group's oldest members. But she's also one of the most devoted—whipping around the paths on her walker, encouraging women half her age to keep up. She successfully trained for—and completed—her first 5K last year, and she's now prepping for her second.
We weren't surprised to hear that Victoria took the title of "Senior Prom Queen" at the senior center's annual formal. (Watch for a photo commemorating that special occasion at the beginning of the clip).
One-third of Americans, including 28 million children, lack safe, easy access to a park within a 10-minute walk of home. Urge your senators to pass the Outdoors for All Act to create parks and enhance outdoor recreational opportunities before the congressional session ends!
