Boeddeker Park
What We’re Doing
Provide recreational space in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district, the city’s densest, lowest income, and most diverse neighborhood.
Our Goal
Ensure every person in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood has access to a quality park within a 10-minute walk of home.

Trust for Public Land worked with the community and dozens of generous public and private donors to transform Boeddeker Park.
San Francisco–based companies included Banana Republic, Levi Strauss Foundation, McKesson, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, and Wells Fargo. Other private funds came from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, S.D. Bechtel Jr. Foundation, the MUFG Union Bank Foundation, the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation, the Evelyn and Walter Haas Jr. Fund, Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council, the Herbst Foundation, the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation, the Walter and Elise Haas Fund, and the David B. Gold Foundation.
Additional support has been received from Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund and the Louise and Claude Rosenberg Jr. Family Foundation.
Public money came from a variety of state sources, including bonds passed by California voters, along with a grant from the California Department of Parks and Recreation.
