CELEBRATING 50 YEARS AND INSPIRING EXCITEMENT FOR THE NEXT 50!

Connecting everyone to the outdoors has been our mission since we were founded half a century ago.

Our early work to conserve land and bring nature-rich places to park-deprived areas in Los Angeles and San Francisco soon expanded into the national organization it is today. With help from our supporters and partners, we’ve protected 4 million acres of land, created nearly 5,400 parks, schoolyards, trails, and greenways across the country to close the outdoor equity gap and bring 4.3 million people closer to the outdoors.

In 2023, we’re celebrating the positive impact we’ve made and looking toward the future as we advance our mission to create, protect, and restore land to the public that will keep making communities more resilient and improving people’s well-being for generations to come.
