Stephen Abdenour

Steve Abdenour is a native of Akron and attended Walsh Jesuit before going on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron. He has worked for the Department of the Navy in Norfolk, Virginia and later at BFGoodrich Aerospace in Akron as a design and project engineer. Steve received his MBA from Walsh University in North Canton and shifted into healthcare at Akron General Medical Center where he spent 30-years in various operational and leadership roles. In 2018, Steve was named Chief Operating Officer of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates and functioned in that role until returning to Cleveland Clinic Akron General as Chief Operating Officer in 2020. He continued to serve in that executive capacity until his retirement in late 2023. Steve has served on numerous hospital boards as well as with the Greater Akron Chamber, the Summit County YMCA Camp Y-Noah Advisory Board, the Boy Scouts of America Great Trails Council Board, and the Conservancy for Cuyahoga National Park. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast and an active cyclist, hiker, and kayaker. He and his wife, Marguerite reside in Richfield.
