Camel’s Hump State Park
When the 3,128-acre Phenn Basin property in the Mad River Valley was threatened with clear-cutting and development in 1995, a coalition of supporters led by TPL and the Vermont Land Trust raised private and public funds to add 2,700 acres to Camel’s Hump State Park. Two years later, TPL transferred the remaining 428 acres to the Green Mountain Club, a local nonprofit conservation organization, for permanent protection.
