Stamford Meadows
The 4,015 acre Stamford Meadows property has long been an acquisition priority for people who care about protecting Vermont’s Green Mountain National Forest, as it connects two non-contiguous portions of the forest, and surrounds the Appalachian Trail Corridor in Vermont. People have trying to link these places since the 1950s, but were unable to find common ground because of disputes over the timber on the land, until The Trust for Public Land’s involvement. The property, and its timber, became part of Green Mountain National Forest in 2004.
