Dan Martin
Dan Martin, San Francisco, CA, is active in land conservation from the Pacific Ocean to Lake Tahoe. He serves as a volunteer and/or Board Member of various non profits including the Northern Sierra Partnership, Sempervirens Fund, and For Youth Investment. In this capacity Dan works with landowners, philanthropists, and public agencies to protect redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains, ranchland in the Sierra foothills, and sustainable timber properties in the high Sierra.
When he is not focused on conservation deals, Dan invests in various cleantech and internet startups in the Bay Area. Prior to his career in conservation, Dan served as Vice President of Business Development at HomeGain, Inc., a company sold to Classified Ventures in 2005. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and spent 4 years in Washington DC at the US-China Business Council before attending the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Dan enjoys SCUBA, hiking, skiing, and the craziness of bicycle commuting in San Francisco.
