Emily Patterson

National Director for Capital Projects

As our National Director for Capital Projects, Emily Patterson guides and supports Trust for Public Land’s parks, trails, and schoolyards project development work, including managing and leading the exchange and use of best practices, overseeing risk management and corporate approval processes, aligning and coordinating our project portfolio with national strategic objectives, and providing guidance and resources to field teams across the country. Emily also directs the C.O.R.E (Community Outreach with Resident Experts) Fellowship, a fully paid and benefited 2-year fellowship program for early-stage local leaders to catalyze change in their communities and develop the skills and experience to redefine the parks, conservation, and climate fields.

Before joining TPL, Emily was Managing Director of Colorado’s Parks for People Program for eleven years. She has worked for leading local and national landscape architecture and planning firms focused exclusively on public lands. Emily has a Master of Landscape Architecture and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Georgia.
