Philip June

Philip June is the P-8 Vice President and Program Manager for all P-8 programs.  In this role, June is responsible for successful execution of the system development, demonstration and production phases of the P-8A program for the U.S. Navy, Australia, UK, Norway, New Zealand, Germany, South Korea and other Foreign Military Sales customers, and the P-8I variant for the Indian Navy. He will also provide oversight for the Special Projects Dallas programs based in Richardson, TX and St. Louis, MO.

Prior to this role, June most recently served as Vice President, Total Quality for Boeing Global Services (BGS), leading efforts to ensure built-in quality throughout Boeing’s services offerings, including related regulatory priorities throughout the business unit. He also led and promoted cultural initiatives to enhance quality and compliance in every aspect of the business.

June served as director of Engineering for the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Engineering Design Center in Southern California and leader for BGS’ Commercial Modifications and Conversions Engineering team. He was responsible for the core BCA Engineering organization, and was the Engineering skill leader in Southern California for the team designing and developing commercial airplane programs. In his BGS role, June led the team supporting the conversion of airplanes in the Boeing commercial fleet to cargo configurations. He also was site leader for the Boeing facility in Long Beach, Calif.

June also led a team developing new design and build approaches for composite structures. In earlier assignments, he was the director and program manager for the Boeing Converted Freighter program, where he oversaw profitability and execution of the 737BCF and 767BCF, and licensing for third-party freighter conversions. June also was a senior structures manager in Customer Support Engineering for twin-aisle airplanes, ensuring the rapid support of the global twin-aisle fleet.

Prior to his assignment leading Long Beach, Philip led the New Mid-market Aircraft fuselage team, developing new design and build approaches for composite structures. June began his Boeing career in 2006 in Philadelphia as a structural analyst on the CH-47 Chinook program. He also worked on various programs and platforms, including rotorcraft, space shuttle and 747-8. After leaving Philadelphia, June worked in South Carolina as the Stress Liaison Engineering leader for the mid- and aft- sections of the 787. He later moved to Italy to lead a cross-functional Engineering team supporting partners producing the 787 mid-body fuselage and empennage.

June holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an Executive MBA dual degree from UCLA and The National University of Singapore.
