Sarah Walwema
Sarah is Climate Project Manager at Trust for Public Land (TPL). She has a background in climate and community planning where she has cultivated skills in technical writing, visual design, public speaking, and community engagement. She uses these skills to help streamline TPL’s work as an organization and support climate team operations. Within TPL’s Climate Smart Cities Program, she advances the planning work through various approaches, including synthesizing document reviews and leading community engagement sessions.
Sarah previously worked as a Planner at GRAEF. She served as the project manager for the first Climate and Equity Plan for the City of Milwaukee (Wisconsin), translating a 2-year engagement process into a technical planning document. Sarah Walwema holds a BA in Environmental Sciences from Northwestern University. She also serves on the Waldron Alumni Council for Northwestern University and serves as a mentor for Loyola University’s Abram Sustainability Challenge.
