Sharon Lyu Volckhausen
After graduating from Princeton University with a BA in History, Sharon worked in Seoul, Korea at The Korea Herald as a Princeton in Asia Fellow. She then earned an MSt in Modern History from Oxford University and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center. After law school, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Denny Chin of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She worked as an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of NY. Sharon is currently the Judicial Assistant to Hon. Denny Chin at the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
She also serves on the Board of the Little Orchestra Society, the Riverkeeper Advisory Board, the Education Committee at Lincoln Center Theater, as Chair of the Board for Princeton in Asia, and Vice President of the Tiger Baron Foundation. She lives with husband John and their two children in Brooklyn, New York.
