Blue Heron Farm
Since our founding, The Trust for Public Land has preserved nearly 7,500 acres in the Cuyahoga River watershed, ensuring Ohioans can access the riverfront for recreation, and protecting clean water in one of the state’s most important river systems.
We partnered with the Cleveland Museum of Natural History to conserve 118 acres of farmland and wetlands in the headwaters of the Cuyahoga River. The land is home to five plant species that scientists classify as “threatened,” and two threatened species of bat. Eventually, the site will welcome students for environmental education field trips, and to the general public to hike and connect with the natural world.
