Chessie Circle Trail
Connecting three University of Toledo campuses and numerous parks and trail systems, the Chessie Circle Trail project (formerly Westside Corridor Rail-to-Trail) will convert an 11-mile long railroad corridor into a hiking and biking trail, providing significant recreational and health and wellness opportunities for Toledo area citizens and students, as well as new economic development opportunities. In October 2011, The Trust for Public Land finalized the purchase of the former CSX rail corridor and transferred ownership to Metroparks of the Toledo Area, the Wood County Port Authority, the City of Toledo, the University of Toledo and the Wood County Park District.
