The Trust for Public Land is working to secure funding for Colden Avenue Pocket Park, which would provide much-needed open space for this densely populated neighborhood of South Los Angeles. With its sunshades, benches, and mosaic-tiled seat walls, the park will provide residents a place to gather, exercise and play. While the kids enjoy their new playground and junior-sized basketball court, adults will be able to exercise with friends at the Fitness Zone® outdoor gym. Features like night-sky friendly lighting, a decorative fence and gate, and drought-tolerant plants will address the community's concerns about park security and maintenance.
Project partners include:
The Community Redevelopment Association/LA, Councilmember Bernard C. Parks and the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks.
