Gaviota Village
Perched above the marine terrace at the western edge of California’s Gaviota Coast, the 43-acre Gaviota Village offers more than stunning ocean views. This recent 2008 addition to Gaviota State Park supports several species in multiple habitats that include grasslands, chaparral and coastal sage scrub, and is part of a larger effort to consolidate up to 10,000 contiguous acres of wildlands and open space. Long a high priority for the community, California State Parks, and Santa Barbara, preserving this property was a team effort, with special help from U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, whose leadership helped secure designated federal funds.
