G&E Ranch
In eastern Summit County, a ranching legacy continues. Like many farmers
in the area, the Blonquist family was feeling the pressure to sell
their land for development as the nearby urban centers and bustling ski
towns were fast expanding. But instead of selling, the family turned to
TPL for help protecting their 4,700-acre, fourth generation ranch.
A
conservation easement now keeps the land intact, off-limits to
subdivision, and preserves the regulated hunting and fishing public
access that the family has allowed on their land for years. With their
land preserved, the Blonquist family can continue raising cattle,
passing their traditions on to the next generation.
