Laurelton Woods
For more than two decades we have kept our eye on Laurelton Woods, waiting for an opportunity to protect this precious stretch of land. It was the largest privately owned, undeveloped property in Brick Township, New Jersey, a municipality that has seen tremendous growth in the past five years. In December 2021, the 9.3-acre Laurelton Woods property was protected in partnership with the Ocean County Natural Lands Trust, Brick Township, and the New Jersey Green Acres Program.
The property is important for water quality protection in the Metedeconk River and Beaverdam Creek watersheds that drain directly into Barnegat Bay. Within a 10 minute walk for more than 1,000 residents, Laurelton Woods will become a go-to destination for neighbors looking to walk their dogs, hit the trails for a jog, or just enjoy nature.
