Mystic River Boathouse Park
With its picturesque coastline, historic village centers, and rural farms, Stonington, Connecticut is emblematic of New England living. But much of the town’s scenic waterfront, particularly along the upper Mystic River, is privately owned and off-limits to the public. The Trust for Public Land helped the Town of Stonington acquire ownership of a long-sought peninsula adjoining iconic Mystic Seaport. A row of dilapidated, view-blocking structures will be replaced by a new waterfront park, enabling public access to one of Connecticut’s most scenic and historic coastlines.
