The North Olympic Peninsula and Hood Canal Story

The North Olympic Peninsula and Hood Canal are home to sweeping mountains, peaceful beaches, rushing rivers, flourishing forests, and cascading waterfalls. There is nowhere else that quite compares. And just 20 miles from downtown Seattle, Hood Canal and the North Olympic Peninsula draw hundreds of thousands of visitors every year from all over the world.

This landscape isn’t just beautiful. It’s also essential. The forests of Hood Canal clean water and air for the whole Puget Sound region, protect vital habitat, capture carbon to slow climate change, and support jobs through forestry and tourism.
