Primrose Farm Estates, Harding Township
The 113 acres known as the Primrose Farm Estates are part of the watershed between Primrose Brook and the Passaic River-important to water quality in New Jersey’s Harding Township, and beyond. For years, conservationists tried to protect the property because of its ecologically sensitive location.
When Primrose Farm Estates was approved for a housing development, The Trust for Public Land partnered with the municipality and several local nonprofits to protect the site for the public, instead. As well as helping safeguard water supplies, conservation of this land will allow for expansion of existing trails, creating improved access to hiking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing.
