Michelle Obama’s Day on MA’O Farm
First Lady Michelle Obama took a tour of the 25-acre MA'O Organic Farms in the Waianae area of Oahu over the weekend. This was the latest of Mrs. Obama's field trips for her Let's Move! program, developed to address the childhood obesity epidemic.
Mrs. Obama highlighted MA'O Farm as a successful model for increasing awareness of-and access to-healthy eating options. We think it's a great choice: since 2008, The Trust for Public Land has helped MA'O grow by 18 acres, allowing the farm to increase its output of organic produce and expand its educational program. It's now the largest organic farm in the state of Hawai'i. Read more about the event at the Obama Foodorama blog.
