The Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge Story

Located at the southern tip of Maine, Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge is regarded as one of the state’s most significant networks of conserved public land.

As this region of Maine grows in popularity and development, protecting the refuge is more important than ever. It provides a comprehensive trail network known for its commitment to wheelchair accessibility.

Trust for Public Land is committed to a long-term partnership with local communities and Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge to conserve critical surrounding properties in southern coastal Maine, including Timber Point, Shorebird Point, and Fortune Rocks.
