Meera Velu
Parks and Conservation Planner
Meera is Parks and Conservation Planner in TPL’s Land and People Lab, where she works on land use and planning issues related to parks and greenspace. Prior to joining TPL in 2022, she worked as an environmental planner at several Bay Area firms, and volunteered with 350 Bay Area Action, lending her planning skills to efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through land use and transportation strategies. Meera received her BA in Political Economy from UC Berkeley and her MA in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts.
