Kenneth Wong
Kenneth Wong is Chief Operating Officer and Director of International Development of Related Companies. He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational, corporate and business functions of the company and oversees the company’s development activities in the international markets.
Mr. Wong has more than 40 years of diverse experience having overseen the development of a broad range of real estate assets from retail shopping centers to theme parks and planned communities both in the U.S. and international markets and representing well over $30 billion worth of assets. His executive experience includes development and operating companies, both public and private, bridging the worlds of real estate, entertainment, design and technology.
Mr. Wong rejoined Related in March 2008 from Westfield America, Inc. where he served as President and was responsible for acquisitions/dispositions and operations, development, leasing, marketing and management of the $15 billion Westfield portfolio of approximately 65 properties, 9,000 retailers and over 20 active developments. Mr. Wong joined Westfield in 2003 from Related Companies.
Prior to joining Related, Mr. Wong spent nearly a decade at The Walt Disney Company where he held a series of senior executive positions, including President of the Disney Development Company and President of Walt Disney Imagineering. During this period, he had global responsibility for the largest program of investment in Disney history, including theme parks, hotels, retail centers, cruise ships and the planned community of Celebration.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Wong was Executive Vice President of Himmel/Miller-Klutznick-Davis-Gray Co of Boston, a private real estate partnership. He also served in project management positions with the Gerald D. Hines organization. Mr. Wong holds dual Masters degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, and a past trustee of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
