Connecting Washingtonians to the Outdoors

Cottage Lake Park east of Seattle used to be a lakeside resort, the type of place where you might have made memories fishing with your family, rowed your own boat for the first time, or got the courage to jump off the swim platform and feel the cold rush of swimming up from below.

Like many such places, the park fell into hard times. It was in danger of being sold, turned into private property or commercial development. But in 1990, Trust for Public Land stepped in and saved the park for good.

Now it offers all of the above as well as summer camps, free community concerts, and even a high ropes course. A recreational gem, the park is near many residential dwellings and provides opportunities for locals and visitors to connect with the outdoors year-round.
