Megan Colwell
Megan Colwell spent her business career in the insurance industry, initially with Chubb as an underwriter, marketing manager, branch and regional manager. She spent the next two decades with California-headquartered insurance broker Woodruff Sawyer, where she provided risk management and insurance counsel to public and private companies. Megan specialized in directors and officers liability, employment practices liability, ERISA liability, and cyber network security insurance.
Now retired, Megan is an active volunteer, particularly with organizations focused on environmental health, education equity and the needs of refugees and immigrants. She serves on the Ecotrust board of directors and also chairs its Finance & Audit Committee; is a 2020 Fellow of the Northwest Conservation Philanthropy Fellowship and a current member of its Advisory Committee; and currently participates on an ad-hoc committee for the Episcopal Diocese of Western Oregon.
Previously, Megan served as both a committee member and board chair of Point Blue Conservation Science, a northern California-based organization focused on mitigating the impacts of climate change and environmental threats. More recently, she completed a four year term as a member of the Standing Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Oregon. Megan has a BA in Geography from San Francisco State University. She is married to an Episcopal priest and has two adult sons.
