The Trust for Public Land on the Department of the Interior Announcement to Allocate $150 Million to Expand Public Parks, Recreation Opportunities in Urban Areas through Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP)

Statement from Tom Stewart, Senior Director of Federal Affairs at The Trust for Public Lands on the announcement that the National Park Service will distribute $150 million to local communities through the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) grant program.

Last week, the Biden-Harris administration committed to supporting locally-led park projects in nature-deprived communities, and we are excited to see today’s announcement that the Department of Interior will distribute a record-setting $150 million for this effort through the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership program. We are proud to see our advocacy for urban parks successfully secure investments in community-led projects that will provide more Americans with nearby access to green spaces.”
