Geordie Hall
Geordie is a resident of Warren, Vermont where he is active in the community and takes advantage of all the wonderful outdoor opportunities the Mad River Valley has to offer. Geordie and his dog Keeley have hiked many sections of the Long Trail and are regular visitors to the trail between Lincoln and Appalachian Gaps. During the past few summers Geordie has backpacked in Colorado, Wyoming, Washington, and Oregon.
Geordie has been a hiker all his life but his passionate pursuit of conservation and hiking began later in life when running his own business allowed him the time. Geordie is a firm believer in the amazing spirit of volunteerism.
He has hiked many sections of the LT and plans to complete it in sections. Geordie and his dog Keeley are regular visitors to the Monroe Skyline between Lincoln and Appalachian Gaps .During the past few summers he has backpacked in Wyoming, Washington, Colorado, and Oregon.
Geordie has served boards of the Green Mountain Opera Festival, the Mad River Ambulance, the Green Mountain Club and the Mad River Glen Cooperative, where he chaired the campaign to restore the single chair. He has been a member of the Mad River Ski Patrol for 52 years. He is an active member of the local ambulance and fire departments. Geordie is retired, having recently sold his online retail winter sports accessories business. He was a pioneer in bringing the ski industry into the internet age. Before running his own business, Geordie’s career was in high tech sales and marketing, beginning with IBM after her graduated from Harvard.
