Spring Hill Farm
When Ebenezer Sheldon, a former Revolutionary War soldier, settled in Aurora in 1799, he set up his homestead on the 153 acres known today as Spring Hill Farm. The area is now a prized open space resource adjoining two existing nature preserves. Protecting the property with its eight-acre lake helps ensure water quality on the Aurora Branch of the Chagrin River and conserves wetland habitat for several threatened and endangered species. TPL helped protect the farm for the City of Aurora, which will manage it as a recreational area and nature preserve.
