Spider Meadow
Spider Meadow lies at the headwaters of Phelps Creek in the Glacier Peak Wilderness. When it was discovered that the owner of three inholdings in the park planned to log the old growth timber, TPL was asked to step in by the Wenatchee National Forest and many other conservation and outdoor organizations. With the help of private and public contributions from more than 500 individuals and organizations, TPL bought the land in 1996, holding it for some years while federal funds were marshaled to add the property to the Wilderness.
