North Cougar Mountain

North Cougar Mountain was one of the last and largest undeveloped, privately-owned properties on Cougar Mountain. North Cougar Mountain connects directly to Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park, a scenic and richly forested network of hiking trails in the Issaquah Alps. When a developer proposed building 57 homes on the property, the City of Issaquah turned to The Trust for Public Land to protect North Cougar Mountain. Now, North Cougar Mountain belongs to the public. North Cougar Mountain will provide new access to Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park via a trailhead on Newport Way. This new trailhead is located within walking-distance of the Issaquah Regional Transit Center. Visitors will be able to take public transit to Cougar Mountain Wildland Park from nearly anywhere in the greater Seattle area. The trails and stunning views beloved by local hikers will be a bus ride away.
