Blueberry Acres

In 2021, The Trust for Public Land and our partners permanently protected Blueberry Acres, a 200-acre property filled with blueberry fields and wooded wetlands, and an important site that supports water quality protection in the Pinelands and the Delaware River Watershed. This adds to a greenbelt that will safeguard water quality for thousands of residents in Burlington County, New Jersey. It also links the 170-acre Evert Trail Preserve and the 37,000-acre Brendan T. Byrne State Forest.

By linking these lands we expanded important ecosystems, habitat, and water resources; while providing more space for visitors and residents to get outside. Now, visitors can stroll the rows of blueberry bushes and grab a snack during berry season. Birders and nature lovers will also enjoy the property, which provides habitat for the state-threatened barred owl, and red-headed woodpecker.
