Eating Alabama

We’ve been thinking a lot lately about the source of our food and how community farms and gardens bring people together, both on and off the land. Once upon a time, we ate what we could grow and what was in season. But with progress came convenience, along with an entirely new way of thinking about food. Instead of sprouting from the local community, the food we eat now hails from far-reaching corners of the globe and is available year-round at your nearest supermarket.

But at what price?

Eating Alabama is a thoughtful documentary about a young couple who set out to eat locally and seasonally, the way their grandparents once did. What they discovered along the way brings to light the many reasons why local food matters.
